Mendelson Advanced Facial Anatomy Course
MAFAC Amsterdam will precede QMP Amsterdam 2023 (December 8-10, 2023) as a condensed version of the renowned two-day Mendelson Advanced Facial Anatomy Course. The course will take place on December 7 in Leiden, NL which is a short 30 minute train ride south from Amsterdam. This course is specifically oriented for surgeons who want to learn how to safely incorporate the latest advances in understanding facial anatomy into their face-lift surgery. The course is tightly structured as a guided, hands-on dissection program, having only two participants for each cadaver head, with a highly experienced dissection tutor for every 4-6 participants.
The attendees readily learn how to define and then dissect within the safety of the subSMAS facial spaces, and to define the intervals between the spaces. Surgeons rapidly gain confidence from appreciating the predictable location of the facial nerve branches in relation to the ligaments in the intervals between spaces, enabling them to use the benefit of this powerful technique. This course is surgery focused, using the appropriate surgical technique for each specific area of anatomy, and using only quality plastic surgery instruments.
