Instagram accounts such as @bydiz.aesthetic and @bydiz.academy are promoting Botox® and filler injections — often exaggerated lip augmentations — and even offering training courses to non-physicians.
This is strictly prohibited in Belgium.
In Belgium, injections with botulinum toxin and fillers are reserved for licensed medical doctors. Yet these accounts on social media give the impression that they can provide and teach aesthetic medical treatments.
The account owner appears aware of the illegality: no name, address, or official contact information is provided, making formal complaints difficult.
We therefore ask for your support.
Which laws are being violated?
According to our legal advisors, this includes:
-
The Coordinated Law of 10 May 2015 on the practice of healthcare professions (Belgian Official Gazette, 18 June 2015)
-
The Law of 23 May 2013 regulating the qualifications required to practise non-surgical aesthetic medicine and aesthetic surgery, as well as the advertising and information relating to these acts (Belgian Official Gazette, 2 July 2013).
Why is this a problem?

This is illegal, as it is not a legally authorized medical practice.
It is:
-
Misleading
-
Potentially dangerous
-
